2 months ago, during a routine health check, my hubby discovered a lump in his neck. After a series of tests, the results show that it is a malignant tumour. So start visits to the doctors, blood tests, scans, biopsies, and finally, a surgery last week.
Our lives were thrown into a whirlwind of confusion, fears, dread of what's going to happen.
Thoughts that crossed my mind were not good ones.
I fear that he's going to leave me alone in this life with 3 little kids.
When I walk around our house, I dread that this might be the place where I'd say goodbye to the one I love the most.
Where the kids might have to say goodbye to their precious daddy.
It was as if we were suddenly being hit with a huge invisible fist, and our heads were spinning.
Unexpected.
Shocking.
We would not have been able to pull through these few weeks, if not for the love and support we've received from our friends and church pastors.
My hubby is now on the road to recovery. The operation was a success, with no complication at all. He's now recuperating and resting at home.
Looking back, we see God's grace in this seemingly hopeless situation. My hubby would not have discovered the tumour had he not been required to go for a health check for his new job. It is his first change of job in 14 years! It was a good thing that the tumour was discovered early, and thus there was not much spread!
Our perspectives on life is forever changed. Petty issues are not important anymore. We treasure each other more. Treasure our family, friends and loved ones more. Each day that we're alive, we want to live it to the fullest.
Through this episode, we have experienced overwhelming love.
Friends who stick with us and see us through.
We have experienced great grace.
Empowerment to live and fight through the most difficult times.
Our lives have been forever changed.
And we are grateful to God for his grace in our darkest moments.
"Though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me."
~ Psalm 23:4

Hey Ing,
I can understand this fear as I went throught it.
I am glad it is over for your case too.
Merry Merry Christmas and a very fruit year ahead.
Ing,
I am so glad that your hubby is on the road to recovery and the ordeal in return has built a greater bond. Thanks to GOD's Grace! I have been worried for the last two weeks too. Now, you can take a breather and really take good care of yourself too. Hugs.
Hi Ing, I can only imagine what you had to go through. But what a beautiful testimony this experience has borne. What a wonderful gift of healing the Lord has given to your family!
Glad to hear that your hubby is recovering now. Guess this is what they said, God never closes one door without opening another.
*hugz*
I'm so sorry to read this. No one deserves to go through this journey. But you have a good & great God backing you, something good will ( or as you've discovered, have) come out of all this drama. Praise God that your hubby is recovering! And thanks for the reminder that nothing matters more than our love ones, our health.
Truly God is always with Juncheng, you and your children. =)
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God..."
Glad to know Juncheng is doing well. Will continue to keep him in prayers.
Hi Ing, thank God that everything turned out well by His grace. It's after going through something like this that our perspective on life changes, and we learnt what's truly valuable and important in our journey here on earth. Praying that the new year will be a great year for you and your family!
Thank God for His mercy and grace that everything went well for your husband.
It is always during dark moments like that that we tend to be more alert to God's presence in our lives. And like always, He has proven to be faithful once again.
Hi, dear friends, thank you so much for all your love. I'm glad that the worst is over! It has been a dark journey, but not one that is without hope. We have experienced overwhelming warmth and love from our friends during this tough period, and we're very thankful.
Here's wishing everyone a beautiful Christmas and a happy year ahead in 2012!
God bless all of you... :)
