eye of the storm

At the centre of a fierce storm, there is a small area of calm which is characterised by clear skies and light breezes. This is known as 'the eye of the storm'.

We're facing some challenges in our family at this moment, storms of life, as some would call it. During times like these, I embrace the mundane. When storms hit, you crave stability, security, peace and calm. So for the past few weeks, I LOVE the mundane!

Waking up early in the morning to send the boys to school. Listening to the boys' favourite Children's Church songs in the car and singing together with them.

Playing with Ellicia at home.
And by the way, we won the Elmo Giveaway by Denesa! It was really a very pleasant surprise. :)

The kids were thrilled to receive the Elmo, which Denesa had kindly come all the way to deliver it to our house. I am grateful. The moment Elmo started singing, our dear Ellicia will start rocking to the beat. It was hilarious to watch!

When the boys come back from school, it's the same old familiar chaos. Digging out stuff to play with, fighting and squabbling, laughing and crying.

Jaden's latest favourite is playing with my guitar. For the past few days, the first thing he does when he wakes up, is to go strum my guitar. The first thing he plays with when he's back from school, is the guitar again.

My very old 5-string guitar. LOL!

The hubby has been overseas thrice in the past 3 weeks. It would have been real tough, if not for my mum who has come to stay with us for this period.

And in the midst of the storm, the Word of God has been a constant strength and encouragement to us.

But Jesus spoke to them at once.
“Don’t be afraid,” he said.
“Take courage. I am here!"
(Matthew 14:27 NLT)

I say amen! Give me mundane, boring anytime! I love it, I hate storms too! Hope whatever challenges you're facing will blow away with the wind very quickly!

That's a new way of looking at the mundane, that it actually provides stability amidst change and challenges. Hope this passes soon enough for you...hang in there! :)

It's convenient from my place to yours and so it's not too troublesome. My hubby used to be away most of the years before and I could absolutely understand how you feel managing three young kids alone.

Want to share this with you:"Life isn't always easy, but if you keep going and persevere to the very best of your ability, you will gain strength to manage the new challenges ahead." Hang on! I was there before and these quotes help me alot.
