In recent weeks, we have established a nice routine of getting the boys to do some work every weekday (almost). We call it the "Mummy School".
During "Mummy School", we will all gather at the dining table. I will either guide Isaac in his homework that he's brought back from school, or teach him some P1 Math. At times, we will just read and read, or check out some stuff from the internet.
As for Jaden, I don't stress him with the academic stuff at this age. So, he gets to do whatever he likes, be it colouring, tracing, drawing, counting... whatever. The funny thing is, when he sees his elder brother doing his work and writing in his books, Jaden also wants to do the same. So, he insisted on writing in his books. I usually ended up teaching him numbers, as he simply loves doing Math.
When I first tried to implement this "Mummy School" on a daily basis, I met with some resistance from Isaac, who was whiny and didn't want to do any work. However, after a few times, it has become part of his daily routine and he's beginning to enjoy it.
Jaden, on the other hand, loves "Mummy School". On some days, the first thing he asks when he reaches home from school, is: "Can we have Mummy School now?"
This is one of the things in my daily life that causes me to have no regrets staying at home for the kids at this point of my life.

xoxo
What a wonderful way to bond with the kids! I have "Mummy School" from 7.45pm - 8.45pm daily, as I work. Very tiring for me, but truly enjoyable! :)
Just Me:
Most of the time I'll either be having my late lunch or feeding the baby during Mummy School. Multi-tasking. LOL!
Beauties' Mummy:
I can imagine how tiring that must be for you. Great mummy you are! It takes alot of commitment to do that daily after work. :)
When I was working, what I did after work was dinner and then I'll be busy marking my students' worksheets! Mummy school will be the last thing on my mind after a day of teaching! Haha.
Well done! We have our 'Mama School' for a few years now and my boys love the time we spent, except when the 'work' gets too tough. Hee hee... It is, to me, one of the best things I have done as a SAHM.
I just hope I will be able to do so with 3 kids.
